📤 e-Deposit Filing
File documents electronically with Belgian courts through the official e-Deposit system, directly from Praxis.
What is e-Deposit?
e-Deposit is the official electronic filing system for Belgian courts. It allows lawyers to submit procedural documents (conclusions, pieces, requests) electronically instead of on paper.
Requirements
- Belgian eID card reader
- Valid lawyer's eID or itsme authentication
- Active bar membership
- Documents in PDF format
Connecting to e-Deposit
- Go to Settings > Integrations > e-Deposit
- Click Connect e-Deposit Account
- Authenticate with your eID or itsme
- Your e-Deposit account is now linked
Filing Documents
From a Case
- Open the case in Praxis
- Go to the Documents tab
- Select the document(s) to file
- Click File via e-Deposit
- Select the court and case reference
- Review and confirm
- Sign with your eID
Document Preparation
Praxis automatically prepares documents for e-Deposit:
- Converts to PDF/A format if needed
- Checks file size limits (max 50MB per file)
- Validates page count
- Adds required metadata
⚠️ File Requirements:
- PDF format only
- Maximum 50MB per file
- Total submission maximum 150MB
- No password-protected PDFs

Filing Receipts
After successful filing:
- Receive official e-Deposit receipt
- Receipt is automatically saved to the case
- Timestamp serves as proof of filing
- Receipt includes unique filing reference
✓ Confirmation: You'll receive an email confirmation from e-Deposit, and the filing is logged in your Praxis case history.
Tracking Filings
View all your e-Deposit filings:
- Go to e-Deposit > Filing History
- See status of each filing (pending, accepted, rejected)
- Download receipts
- Resubmit if rejected
Common Issues
❌ Filing Rejected
Common reasons:
- Incorrect case reference number
- PDF is password-protected or corrupted
- File exceeds size limits
- Court does not accept e-Deposit for this matter type
Bulk Filing
File multiple documents in one session:
- Select all documents to file
- They're grouped by court/case
- Sign once for all documents
- Receive consolidated receipt
