Search Belgian case law directly from Praxis. Access decisions from the Court of Cassation, Courts of Appeal, and other jurisdictions.

What is Juridat?

Juridat is the official Belgian case law database maintained by the judiciary. It contains published decisions from Belgian courts, searchable by various criteria.

Searching Case Law

  1. Click Research > Juridat Search in the toolbar
  2. Enter your search terms
  3. Apply filters (court, date range, subject matter)
  4. Browse results
  5. Click to view full decision

Search Options

Saving Results

Save relevant decisions to your cases:

  1. Find a relevant decision
  2. Click Save to Case
  3. Select the target case
  4. Add notes about relevance
  5. Decision is saved in case documents
💡 Tip: Create a "Research" folder in your case documents to keep all case law organized.

Citation Formats

Copy citations in standard Belgian format:

Click Copy Citation to get properly formatted reference.

When viewing a decision, Praxis shows:

Alerts

Get notified of new relevant case law:

  1. Create a search
  2. Click Save as Alert
  3. Choose notification frequency (daily, weekly)
  4. Receive email when new matching decisions are published

Export Options

Language

Decisions are available in their original language:

Some decisions include translations or summaries in the other language.
